The
also called “Paris – Dakar” on snow is covered
by a big part of TV channels. At national level it’s outstanding
the 10 and 15 minutes daily broadcasted by the second channel of
TVE for all Spain. In the Channel 33 we count on 15 minutes daily
that let fans widely follow the crossing. In the last editions TVE
channel 1, Antena 3, Telecinco, Cuatro, Canal Sur, Canal 9, Televion
Andorra, TV Galicia, Canal 7, Telemadrid, Euskal Telebista and Television
Aragon covered the event in their news items, sports and society.
PIRENA succeed in being one of the few events covered one way or
another by all the national and autonomous channels.
PIRENA is also present all over the world thanks
to channels like Hispasat, Eurosport, Eurovision and Transworld
Sport. The digital channels also broadcast summaries of the last
race days.
RIEDWEG PRODUCCIONS with its mountain TV teams
and with more than five editing rooms in Barcelona work 24 hours
per day and make possible the media coverage of the White Route
in the Pyrenees year after year for 15 days. That way we can offer
high quality images to the national and international broadcasting
centres. Our organisation makes available ten snowmobiles and a
helicopter (from RACC), our protector bird, to the autonomous cameramen
from TV channels. With that equipment the job of the journalists
sent by the different media becomes easier.
As for the press, PIRENA has a great coverage by the Sports Newspaper
SPORT, which publishes two special issues special for this event
as well as a daily article with information of each stage.
The information appeared in Spain has a full and unified follow-up
made by ACCESO, a freelance company, which checks and analysis the
media. That follow-up includes the list of TV items and the number
of hits got from the several Spanish TV channels, where Pirena might
be a piece of news.
